PPAPP-Atma Jaya Campaigns Anti-Violence against Women

Jakarta Empowerment, Children Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) Agency collaborates with Unika Atma Jaya's Community Empowerment Center (PPM) to hold webinar for campaigning anti-violence against women.

During COVID-19 pandemic, PPAPP Agency also opens online counseling service

This webinar was held as a series of Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Day which commemorated in Jakarta from November 25 to December 10, 2020.

This time, the webinar is focused on efforts to prevent violence against young women or millenials.

Central Jakarta Awarded as City That Cares About Human Rights

Jakarta PPAPP Agency Head, Tuty Kusumawaty said, this webinar was carried out as a series of activities held by Jakarta Government in realizing 16 Days Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Campaign.

"Anti-violence against women and children campaign is held through collaboration with various related parties, such as Unika Atma Jaya," she conveyed, Tuesday (12/15).

Violence cases which happened to women and children could be caused by many factors. Thus, through this event, her side encouraged people to recognize the potential for violence and become the agent of change in their respective environments by carrying out advocacy in preventing violence against women and children.

"During COVID-19 pandemic, PPAPP Agency also opens online counseling service via hotline 081317617622 or email upt.p2tp2adki.2017@gmail.com, and Jakarta Siaga 112," she informed.

Unika Atma Jaya LPPM Chairperson, Sih Yuliana Wahyungningtyas encouraged all parties to identify potentials that can lead to violence.

"We also need to convince violence victims that they are not alone and others are care to help them," she mentioned.

Meanwhile, Unika Atma Jaya FEB Lecturer as well as senior member of Jakarta Regional Research Council (DRD), Susy Yunia R. Sanie expressed her appreciation to RPTRA administrators and PKK cadres who care about this issues and want to work selflessly for the benefit of the community in the neighborhood where they live.

"PKK cadres are Unika Atma Jaya field partners in various community service activities," she added.

For information, this webinar also invited speakers namely, Syarief Darmoyo, lecturer in Unika Atma Jaya FEB's Management Study Program and Tri Warmiyati, a gender activist sociologist who is also a lecturer at Unika Atma Jaya Psychology Faculty.

Webinar was attended by 44,814 people, both participants and audience. It also contributed to the 16 Days Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Campaign which obtained record for Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) as the most watched series of webinars with total 782,556 people.
